I thought there were some really beautiful Antiques, I just didn't need. The unfortunate part of the trip was a good portion of everything I just LOVED and wanted, was already SOLD!
Next time I plan to hit the "fields" before the big show and arrive EXTRA early on the day of Marburger to try and snag those special finds before someone else does!
Though I came away with very little merchandise, I did accomplish a "recharge" of my creative juices. I felt very inspired for creating some new products and got some great decorating ideas.
I thought I would share some of my snapshots from my phone so you can see what caught my eye...
Marburger...
Lots of gorgeous silver...
Tortoise was a reoccurring theme throughout...
These would be so cute for a house by the water...
I really want a canoe for summer, love the blue on the inside of this one... though more decorative, otherwise I would sink!
Lots of great Turkish Kilims..
Bought these big guys for a client... Going to look great with fabric shades!
I really loved these... maybe a future item for MM...
My next DIY... painted tree branches, would make a great center piece!
A few asian inspired items...
Antique Zinc trim would be so pretty in a powder room as a border...
Haven't decided what I would do with these, but they were too great not to photo...
Round Top is a darling little town, and if you are ever planning a trip to that part of Texas in spring or fall it's definitely worth a trip to the show... There is great energy; lots of dealers, designers, and just general lovers of antiques.
Hope to see you there next time!
Meredith
