What's my STYLE?

In the past week I have been asked on several different occasions,  "What's your style?"

The question always causes me pause... I like to think I can do anything. 

That is... Anything that is right, and  what I feel is in good taste.

I can be modern, I can be traditional, I can be simple, and I can be complicated.

I always welcome a challenge, and I will always push the envelope. 

 I am not about making a statement, I am conversationalist.  

A good designer can do exactly what the client wants. 

A great designer can do what the client wants but still capture the LOOK that represents the designer. 

But the BEST designer takes the wishes of the client, and pushes them to be something they never dreamed they could be.

The Screened in Porch...

Right now in Central Texas we are enjoying 75 degree perfect days...
It's beautiful here... cool mornings, breezy afternoons, and sunny.  We are taking advantage of outdoor time; walks around the lake and cocktail hour outside while watching the kids play.

However, it will be short lived.  Sadly,  it will soon be HOT, HOT, HOT, humid, and there will be LOTS of mosquitos!  THE SCREENED IN PORCH provides us with a little feeling of the outdoors on those sweltering buggy days here in the Southwest.  They are breezy little rooms for relaxing, reading or dining.  We have a SMALL one which for the past several months has been storage for bikes, surf boards, strollers, etc. I AM DETERMINED to get it cleaned up before those loooong summer days approach us.

Christies sale not to be missed...

A PALLADIAN  VILLA

I toured this expansive home several years ago when I worked with Michael Smith.  It was a stunning piece of property on the edge of the Pacific Coast.   The architecture is overwhelming which was renovated by Oscar Shamamian of Ferguson & Shamamian in New York.   The design by Michael Smith is flawless.  The interiors are filled with Chinese ceramics, Old Master paintings, rare artifacts,  crisp linen upholstery & antique rugs.  A lot of which is coming up for sale at the Michael Smith, Christies Sale in New York on April 23rd and 24th.
